Chad Anspach

Chad Anspach - Program Manager

Chad is a 28 year veteran of the Fire Service and is currently a Battalion Chief with the Brownsburg Fire Territory, just outside of Indianapolis. He has also been a practicing paramedic for 23 years, and currently serves as the Program Manager for educational programs at Indiana University Health. Chad is also a Medical Specialist for the Indiana Task Force One, a FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Team, based in Indianapolis.

Chad was awarded a Baccalaureate Degree in Allied Health Sciences Education from Indiana University and he also possesses a degree in Emergency Medical Services from Ball State University. His special interests include austere medicine, tactical medicine, hazardous materials response, all-hazards preparedness and toxicology.

Aaron Jeanette

Aaron Jeanette - Educator

Aaron began his career in high school, riding out with the Shelbyville Fire Department. He completed EMT training through Greenfield and his Paramedic training through St Francis. His past experiences include working as a CNA, EMT for Rural Metro Service, Organ transplant coordinator for Indiana Donor network, and as a physician extender for St Francis Emergency Department.

He is currently a Lieutenant for Beech Grove Fire Department and also works at IU Health as part of the EMS Continuing Education Department. He is also the ITLS Course State Representative, NREMT Representative, and local 416 active member. Outside of work he enjoys going to Colts games, camping, fishing and spending time with his family.

Nick Montelauro

Nick Montelauro - Educator

Nick began his medical career after taking an EMT course as an elective in his freshman year at college. Since then he has served as an EMT, Advanced EMT, Paramedic, Field Supervisor, Quality Assurance Officer, Training Officer, Division Manager, Executive Leader, and in diverse roles for state and national organizations related to the delivery of emergency care. He has served in ground 911 and critical care, air medical, emergency department, and community-based organizations, as well as volunteering for organizations from trauma system development and injury prevention to the promotion and development of paramedicine as a profession.

Nick was previously part of the Emergency Cardiovascular Care Education team at IUH, and also works as a field preceptor for paramedics in training, as well as maintaining several part-time associations providing direct care to patients. He holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Paramedic Science as well as a Bachelor of Science in Management, and is currently pursuing a graduate degree. When not working or studying, he can usually be found on a hiking trail or camping with his four-legged friend, Brutus.

Kris Olsen

Kris Olsen - Educator

Kris began her career in nursing at Bloomington Hospital after graduating with a BSN from NIU in DeKalb, Illinois. Her career spans 5 states and a multitude of roles from the Cardiovascular ICU to critical care ground and air transport to EMS education and clinical management. She has a Masters degree in Nursing Leadership and Management, is a certified flight nurse, certified medical transport executive, as well as board certified in nursing professional development.

Kris’s passion is developing critical thinkers through education and continuous quality improvement. She is a member of the Vision Zero safety board, NAHQ, The Society for Simulation in Healthcare, ASTNA, ITLS regional affiliate faculty, and AHA training center faculty.

Outside of work she enjoys retraining off-track thoroughbred horses and spending time with family.

Jean-Ann

Jean-Ann Rue - Multimedia Developer

Jean-Ann has a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University in Computer Graphics Technology. She is a talented Graphics Developer with expertise in E-learning and computer based training. Jean-Ann has over 10 years experience in the E-learning industry and has developed computer based training for a variety of students and topics.

Jean-Ann has created courses used to train employees to work at Boeing and taught students airplane maintenance and assembly. She has created online education courses for users of industrial machines whose customers include: Harley Davidson, Rolls Royce, Haas, Index, Mori Seiki and Purdue.

Jean-Ann has also developed and maintained websites along with creating graphics for all mediums needed for her job.

Carl

Carl Wurtz - Multimedia Developer

Carl Wurtz has a Bachelor of Science from Xavier University in Radio/TV. He is a talented video editor with expertise in color grading video and photographs, as well as creating visual effects and motion graphics. Carl brings over 30 years expertise in the video post production field.

Carl has used his expertise to work with such clients as: Arby’s, H&R Block, Target, Lenscrafters, Indiana State Fair, Indiana Tourism, Butler University, Purdue University, IUPUI and Indiana University.

Outside of work, Carl enjoys going to movies and dining out with his partner in fun (his wife Pamela), listening to his daughter’s adventures in nursing (she recently graduated), music (which includes playing on his drum kit), pets (he has 3 little white dogs), and volunteering with the Westfield Lions Club.

Andrea

Andrea Grogg - EMS Liaison - Methodist Hospital


Andrea started her career in EMS after working in the healthcare industry for 8 years. Several years after receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Indiana University – Bloomington, Andrea began to learn about the EMS world and quickly become fascinated, deciding to pursue her new-found passion.

Andrea received her EMT certification from the Methodist Hospital EMS Education Program. She worked briefly for a private transport service as an EMT before she was accepted in to the Methodist Hospital Paramedic Program. Andrea was hired by a local fire department, as she finished paramedic school in 2009, and would spend three years there before transitioning to another busy fire department. She has also precepted EMT and paramedic students, new hires, and has experience working in a busy urban emergency department.

Andrea joined IU Health in 2016 as the EMS liaison and serves as your main point of contact for any EMS related questions, concerns, and feedback for Methodist Hospital.

In her free time, Andrea loves trying out new recipes, spending time with her family and two dogs, and exploring the city.

Kurtiss

Kurtiss McKissick - EMS Liaison - Indy Suburban Hospitals


Kurtiss is an EMT and has been with IU Health on the Lifeline Team for 5+ years. Prior to his tenure with IU Health Lifeline, Kurtiss started his career in Pendleton during his senior year of high school and served for 12 years and worked for the City of Lawrence Fire Department for 5 years as well. Fun fact – Kurtiss also spent almost a year serving as a Security Host for Walt Disney World!

Kurtiss is married, has two kids and two dogs. Kurtiss enjoys sports of all kinds – whether it be while coaching, playing, or watching.

Kurtiss is the EMS liaison for the IU Health Suburban Region (ISR) which consists IU North, IU Saxony, IU Tipton, and IU West.

Nicole

Nicole Hall - EMS Liaison - Riley Hospital


Nicole is a paramedic and has worked the past 7 years for Indianapolis EMS, serving as a team leader for the past 4.5 years. She has served as a preceptor and FTO, teaching and guiding new paramedics and EMTs. When not in that role, she has volunteered for community days, teaching hands only CPR and Stop The Bleed to the community. She has also worked for a private service the year before joining IEMS, doing interfacility transfers. Nicole has a keen interest and passion for pediatric patients. In Nicole's free time, she loves spending time with her 2 daughters. She loves going to new places and trying new foods. She will also take any chance to be outside when the weather is nice.

Nicole is the Riley Children's Health EMS liaison.

Edward Bartkus, MD - Medical Director


Edward Bartkus is the EMS Medical Director for Methodist Hospital. He serves as a manuscript reviewer for Academic Emergency Medicine in the areas of EMS and medical informatics. He is the Medical Director for the Tactical EMS team supporting the Indianapolis FBI office SWAT team and Indiana State Police ERT team. He is the Medical Director for Methodist's Disaster Management Team and teaches at FEMA's Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston, Alabama. He is ABEM certified and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
