CalendarIconInternational Trauma Life Support - Provider

ITLS is accepted internationally as the standard training course for pre-hospital trauma care. Not only are courses taught as a continuing education option, but they are also used as essential curricula in many paramedic, EMT and first responder training programs.

ITLS course gives the student the knowledge and hands-on skills to take better care of trauma patients. ITLS stresses rapid assessment, appropriate intervention and identification of immediate life threats. The ITLS framework for rapid, appropriate and effective trauma care is a global standard that works in any situation.

ITLS course combines classroom learning, hands-on skills stations, and assessment stations that put learning to work in simulated trauma scenarios. Each ITLS course includes an evidence-based course manual with in-depth content written and edited by trauma care experts based on current re-search. ITLS courses are designed, managed and delivered by course directors, coordinators and instructors experienced in EMS, pre-hospital care and the ITLS approach.

You must already hold an ITLS card to attend this class.

CalendarIconFundamentals of Critical Care Support - FCCS

An educational offering for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, critical care paramedics, nurses, pharmacists, and respiratory therapists who work in a variety of acute care settings.

At the end of this program, the participants should be able to:

  • • Prioritize assessment needs for the critically ill patient
  • • Select appropriate diagnostic tests
  • • Identify and respond to significant changes in the unstable patient
  • • Recognize and initiate management of acute life-threatening conditions
  • • Determine the need for expert consultation and/or patient transfer and prepare the practitioner for optimally accomplishing transfer

This course includes online study and a live classroom session. The online portion is to be completed prior to attending the live session and will cover the subjects of Basic ECG Rhythm interpretation, Sinus and AV nodal, Atrial and Ventricular arrhythmias. The course will provide you with 2 hours of online content with the classroom session offering three hours of review. THE DEFINITIVE EMS AIRWAY COURSE

Learn the full range of airway management techniques — including use of video laryngoscopes & other advanced imaging devices, extraglottic devices, drug-assisted intubation and cricothyrotomy. Work with expert faculty who know the unique challenges facing EMS providers. Use proven airway devices in small group sessions. Practice decision-making and airway techniques in Code AirwayTM simulations. Face the most challenging patient scenarios in a no-risk environment. These include: elevated ICP, pulmonary edema, cardiogenic shock, status asthmaticus foreign body in the airway, direct airway trauma, multiple trauma with shock, and many more.

CalendarIconParamedic Refresher

This Paramedic Refresher course is an interactive, blended-learning course that provides the required 48 hours of continuing education for NREMT recertification. This refresher course thoroughly addresses the objectives in the National EMS Education Standards and was designed to meet the specific requirements of the NREMT refresher option for the Paramedic applicant. To be able to count this refresher forfull NREMT credit you MUST attend all 6 sessions for a total of 52 hours in the classroom. If you attend all 6 sessions and complete the online requirements at the end of this course you be certified in ACLS, PALS, EMPACT, ITLS, and Pediatric ITLS, and will have completed all NREMT psychomotor requirements for recertification. Each student must have the items below completed before class and that class text book when required:

  • • December 2, 2019: ITLS 8-5pm - The online ITLS lectures must be completed on our LMS. ITLS book is required. ISBN: 0134130790
  • • December 3, 2019:Pediatric ITLS 8-5pm. Pediatric ITLS book will be provided.
  • • December 4, 2019: ACLS 8-3 pm, Operations lecture 3pm-5pm - Must have ACLS pre-test completed and turned in at the start of class. The study guide will give you directions to take the pre-test.
  • • December 9, 2019: PALS 8-3pm, OB child birth skill check off 3-5pm - Must have PALS pre-test completed and turned in at the start of class. The study guide will give you directions to take the pre-test. Online OB Lectures must be completed on our LMS and an OB child birth skill check off will occur from 3-5pm.

This EMT Refresher course is an interactive, blended-learning course that provides the required 34 hours of continuing education for NREMT recertification. This refresher course addresses the objectives in the National EMS Education Standards and was designed to meet the specific requirements of the NREMT refresher option for the EMT applicant.
To be able to count this refresher for full NREMT credit you MUST attend all 4 sessions for a total of 32 hours in the classroom. If you attend all 4 sessions and complete the online requirements at the end of this course you will have completed all didactic NREMT requirements (34 hours) and be certified in EMPACT, AHA-BLS and ITLS.
Each student must have the items below completed before class and that class textbook when required:

  • • December 2, 2019: ITLS 8-5pm - The online ITLS lectures must be completed on our LMS. ITLS book is required. ISBN: 0134130790
