The Alabama Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) developed the Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) course in 1982. The decision to develop such a course was based on the need for good “hands-on” continuing education courses for EMTs and other EMS personnel. BTLS has since changed its name to International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) and become accepted internationally as the standard training course for prehospital trauma care and now is not only taught as a continuing education course but also used in many EMT training programs. ITLS Pediatric is a building course for those who have completed and passed an ITLS provider course. This course is designed to build your knowledge working with Pediatric trauma patients. ITLS Pediatric focuses on the special needs of young trauma patients. In 8 hours of CE, you will learn the principles of proper assessment, management, critical interventions, patient packaging, and rapid transport. For the class flyer Click Here
